Troy..e movie itself was a solid blockbuster..nicely made n wif a supreme cast...itz a gd movie..IF u can get over e fact tt e original story of troy didnt happen e way it was told in e movie..n tt e 10-year war lasted oni 4 a couple of wks in e film...e scale is grand..e pacing is tight n e cast is uniformly gd... itz al abt conquest n brutality..wif a slight dose of romance...e big fight btw achilles n hector is well worth e build-up...
overall an excellent movie...wif pitt's performance as e standout..he had juz e right mix of arrogance n sadness..n e moves 2 b achilles...put this wif his performance in snatch and we c a truly gd actor..nt juz another hollywood hunk...if any1 doubts him..dey shld look @ him w/o al his star-glow n accept tt he IS achilles n truly does give a great performance...
bloom has a great turn as paris..n has possibly e hardest role in e film...making e audience feel 4 hu is possibly e least loved character in e history of literature...his paris is no longer e self-centered coward of e myth..but is wadz inside al of us..e desperate struggle 4 life n happiness..torn btw wad he knows is right 4 his world n e simple life he wants...
bana..hu was dreadful in the hulk..plays hector..e trojan hero..n he probably comes off best in e film...he radiates e charisma tt a leader of his stature shld hav..n when he is on screen..e character scenes..i dunno how 2 put dis..bt dey simply worked...2 thumbs up 4 bana!
e choreographers hav done a fantastic job too..e one to one fight scenes are spectacular..e score is breathtaking n e costuming n props r stunning...itz qte lykly dey'll get oscar nods in dese areas n stand a gd chance in winning...
Troy is an achievement..n while I tink wolfgang peterson is wonderfully talented..wat made dis wk was e team he made wif benioff..n e dedication of e actors...u sit in e theater..troy transports u...so let me put it this way: e less u noe abt e original myth..e more u wil enjoy e movie...
